Hello, Friends!
It’s been a while since I posted here. I’ve been doing pretty well — busy with work and life, which I am certain you can relate to. Time seems to move faster and faster. Is that because all my clocks are digital??
The news I want to share today has to do with YOUR digital book library.
If you have novels on a Kindle app or Kindle device, I suggest you specifically “download” each favorite book from your amazon account. As of 26 February 2025, amazon is changing the way your Kindle books are saved. I won’t go into the details myself, but if you “google” this topic, you will come across several articles explaining how Kindle books are kept after the 26th. Some might even disappear.
Why do I care how you upload/download/crossload your e-books? Because if you “own” one of my House of Baric e-books, I don’t want those digital copies to disappear from your library.
I’m taking a break from selling e-books on amazon for a while. (The reason? I’ll leave that for another post). My worry is that when I remove my e-books from the amazon store, amazon might remove The House of Baric books from of your Kindle library. Maybe this worry is unfounded, but I wanted to bring it to your attention.
Sadly, we don’t own the books on our Kindle apps. Amazon owns them. However, a copy of your purchase, downloaded onto your computer or device, can’t be deleted by anyone but you.
My book series has been exclusively on Kindle and KDP for about year now, but I want to reach readers who are looking to support other platforms. The House of Baric print editions will be available on amazon as well as other print booksellers. The e-books will be sold on other digital sites (Kobo, BN Nook, Apple, Smashword, etc.) for a change.
It has been almost ten years since my first publication, and I appreciate all your support over the years! Happily, I’m at a good place in my life to finally finish my next novel. Maybe I can win you over again with a especially good read! Until then ~ Jillian
